English book group in Berlin

Thank you for your interest in the Berlin Chapter of the Booker Tea Reading Group. We have been up and running since 2006 and have already enjoyed great discussions of books such as Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go, de Bernières’ Birds Without Wings, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah.

Do join us for the next discussion!

We publish our reading list annually. Discussions are in English, so strong reading and conversation skills in the language are recommended even if you are not a native speaker. (There’s also a German-language subgroup, if you’re interested. Join one or both!)

We meet the 3rd Sunday of each month from 12 noon to 2 p.m. in the homes of group members (yes, occasionally, we will also Zoom!). Hosting a discussion is completely voluntary; it is not a requirement for participation in the group. Guests are to bring a vegetarian dish, salad or dessert to share in a potluck meal; the host provides coffee, tea, and water.

To protect the privacy of our members, who host in their homes, location details are only posted to our private forum on Band, never on this website. Please see our How to Join page for more information.
