If our current
reading list is not your cup of tea, do not despair. There
is an incredible wealth of groups reading fiction and nonfiction
titles that cater to diverse interests.
As a public service,
we've launched the DC
Book Groups Network, a free bulletin board for discussion
groups in metropolitan Washington, D.C. There on the board
you can
- Learn about different book groups
- Recruit members
for the group you are forming
- Announce local literary events
- Chat with other book group leaders
- Post the dates, times and locations of your upcoming meetings
access the bulletin board.
Many
of the independent bookstores
also offer information on and discounts to area discussion
groups (Politics
and Prose, especially). Further, try the local papers:
they have special book-oriented pages to their web sites.
Check out the Washington
Post Book World.
This page is still
under development, but I hope this helps!
